What is this?

The Snowdon Trust is a charity founded in 1891 by Lord Snowdon. The charity provides grants to disabled students either with a physical or sensory disability to access vocational and academic courses in the UK. They provide funding towards their additional disability-related costs where these are not covered by statutory or other channels. This includes; human support costs, equipment and extra accommodation costs. In the academic year 2016/2017 the Snowdon Trust have awarded grants up to £238,000 to 88 disabled students across the UK.

New opportunity

In recognition of Lord Snowdon’s long association with the College, The Royal College of Art is the Snowdon Trust’s partner for the first scholarship. Snowdon is now offering a scholarship programme to students with physical and sensory disabilities and who will be commencing their Master’s Degree course at the RCA in the 2017/18 academic year. It will cover the student’s full Masters fees for the two-year course and provide an annual grant of £15,000 towards living costs. This new opportunity will allow Snowdon Scholarship students to go on to become leaders in their fields and be great examples for others to follow.
